Pages disappearing from Google

May 17, 2006

Matt Cutts has a looooooong article about the implementation of the Big Daddy update on Google. It makes for some good reading but the section near the end where he deals with some of the complaints they’ve had at Google since Big Daddy is prime content. None of it is particularly new advice though but good to hear it repeated from the horses mouth.
People who had lost listings seem to have either had crap sites with no content, decent sites with links to lots of crap sites, decent sites with no inbound links, or crap sites full of affiliate links.
So in the case of Big Daddy, as before it comes down to this: build a quality site with content that adds value to the web. Then get people to link to it. Don’t link out to dubious sites. Job done.
